I always tell myself not to let football ruin my day but - (3 Viewers)

Bro, no lie that game kept me sleepless for 2+ days. It's the game that caused me to find SR so I could commiserate with fellow Saints fans. The flukey things that happened in that game...

The only other game that affected me that badly was the 2018 NFCCG.
I'm pretty surprised it wasn't the River City Relay. Craziest sequence in football history, period.

So you are a 30+ year fan just as I and many are on here. So let me ask, and be honest, did you really feel after we scored the go ahead TD that we would win? I didn't. Seen it coming. So that's how it doesn't ruin my day because as a Saint fan you should have the foresight to see that coming.
I had the feeling that we were going to make a play, but then when I saw the PI flag and the stats that Koo's longest was 55 or something I knew he was going to make it. There just seems to be something wrong with the way this team closes out games at times, goes way back to CSP and don't forget that Drew used to have a lot of these offensive stinkers at times too. And the Defense was poor too at times. . . hardly any pressure on Cousins.

It doesn't ruin my day anymore, but it does ruin football, I had plans to enjoy the Ravens/Cowboys game and the night game Sunday, but once we lose like that I just feel like its Entertainment, it's subjective bye the refs, so why continue to watch. Even though we can PVR games now, its still a lot of work skipping through all the judgement call flags. Come Saturday I will be fairly optimistic that we have a chance against KC, but once we start seeing the blocked passes and tacking calls i'll feel like we have no chance.

The Seattle game where "Beastmode" was created was pretty depressing too, I think we played an away WC game against a team that was 7-9, with a 40 year old QB, I am thinking we were a 10 win team that year, then made fools of ourselves on Defense, that would last decades, . . .

But this year i'd just take a chance at a playoff game, it's the bobbled games like these two that keep you out at the end of the year, when you lose to your divisional rival and a NFC opponent.

Since this has the feelings of a thread about perspective -

I’ve barely slept since the weekend, fretting about things related to Hurricane Helene. A Saints win would have provided a candle in this personal darkness, but the Saints losing won’t devastate me, all things considered.

I really wanted that series lead back, though.

That one was depressing but that was just one year removed from being at the top of the mountain, so it didn’t hit me too hard.

My reaction to that game was more of a “Man that was a fun two year ride, and even though we just lost this fluke game against a 7-9 team playing out of its mind, we have a friggin’ Lombardi baby!”

Most of the league is hovering around .500. some will rise, some will fall. 4 more weeks and we'll have an idea where we stand.
I say we go 1-3 the next 4 weeks. A loss to KC then followed by a L to Tampa Bay will finish our season. Split the next two we have a shot.
