Player Bio: Wesley McGriff - Vanderbilt Official Athletic Site

Looked at this guy's profile and I was very impressed. He has a history of turning a secondary around for the good wherever he goes. And if our secondary can hold people one on one then RYAN can put more pressure on the QB upfront. Maybe this guy will be able to convince LOOMIS and PAYTON get rid of ROMAN HARPER. He can't cover and he is a cap casualty.

Or...maybe he'll convince LOOMIS to restructure him to a cap-friendly contract. Then teach him how to cover better. HARPER does some things very well. He can be an asset if kept at the right price.

I agree that he seems to be a great hire. Im thoroughly excited about him as our DB coach.

I am more excited about football being played by the Saints of New Orleans. DC's, and position coaches have never been a reason for me to get excited.

But after last year, safe to say, they DO make a difference!

Can anyone dig up any secondary players he's coached up through the years that's in the NFL now?

He received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice, graduating with honors, from Savannah State in 1990.

Well, that's an easy nickname: McGriff "The Crime Dog."
