with no fans especially home opener. Probably the last time we will see Brady vs brees in the dome unless we play in the nfc championship and have no fans please don't let this happen!

I can wait one year and we start all over next July. Let’s say they allowed 20k into the dome. I think it’s mentally challenged but for the sake of argument, who is picking these 20k and what is the criteria to get picked? It’s just ridiculous. I love my Saints and Tigers but I can sacrifice 1 year to get it right. If your team wins some kind of championship this year will forever have an asterisk by it. I can wait a year so we don’t have that issue.
I was watching the Cubs play the other night and there were fans in the stands. Spread out. I thought who decides who gets in and where?? It would be a complete waste to buy a ticket and you go and they say "oh, you can't come in, we have 10 people in that section"

Scouts and players can sit in stands. Also don’t be fooled for the cardboard ones. Now outside the stadium it is game on.

Now that’s something nobody is talking about. What is downtown going to look like all day of the first home game? Some folks surely are going to pregame.

Giants/Dodgers had nobody in the stands opening night. Only cardboard cutouts behind home plate. Today was a different story. cardboard cutouts everywhere.

Baseball is definitely saving money on baseballs this year though. ;)

It could possibly be the first and last game of the season. There WILL be an outbreak of Covid in the league and that will end the season. 60 men touching hitting breathing on each other is probably only second to sleeping with someone to spread the disease.
You know what's impossible? Transmitting the disease if you don't have it.

You know what's possible? Determining whether someone has the disease. In fact, it's pretty easy.

Those 60 men can breathe and sweat and leak all over each other if they're negative.

If they allow 25% capacity and everyone wears a mask I feel like it would be safe enough to happen.

In my very uninformed & amateur medical opinion

I never understood this asterisk thing. How is it the players fault because it's a pandemic? How do you justify putting a asterisk somewhere due to this. An asterisk denotes in sports for something that is "TAINTED". So an asterisk would be put by championship team because the virus "TAINTED" the season. Tainted is something that rotted or corrupted hmmm🤔. Again maybe I'm missing something 🤷🏾‍♂️
You are. The asterisk is used to denote results that were achieved under conditions that were substantially different than "normal" conditions such that it would be expected that the results SHOULD be substantially different as well. Yes, maybe "tainted" as in McGwire's and Sosa's chemically-enhanced season long homerun rampage...but also think of say Aaron Judge getting to face AAA-at-best quality starting pitching in three out of five games throughout a season because of virus-related reasons. How do you compare those stats to "normal" season stats? You can't...so you mark them with the asterisk so it flags that something was different that season that accounted for different expectations.

So basically, you are unable to accept that we live in a time of great change. I'm willing to just try and enjoy whatever product is able to be fielded this season. It's extraordinary that there might even be a season.

Trying to force reality to fit your expectations never works out. Life is nothing but suffering if you can't adapt to change IMHO.

You're kidding yourselves if you think they won't at least play one game. There's almost no way that they would cancel the entire season without playing one game. Practically every team would have to have COVID. In fact, I expect them to play several games at least. Now I don't know if they'll be able to finish but they will try.
