I can get Abita Amber in Queens at $8.99 a 6 AND I BUY IT Once in a great while, the same store will get Dixie. It's a nice trip down memory lane, but when I have the Dixie, it reminds me why it's a memory.

Yeah, abita is much tastier. Abita Strawberry is lips smacking good with the refreshing "aaah" of spirite.

Dixie in long necks >>>Bud, Coors and Miller. In a can, it is pretty horrid especially the old fashioned steel cans it used to come in. I think Dixie was one of the last to go to Aluminum cans. I would rather drink a Dixie (can or bottle) than a sick syrupy sweet over hopped Abita Amber any day IMHO.

We all have our personal taste, but I don't think I'd declare Abita Amber as "syrupy sweet over hopped". There are many American beers that try too hard and over flavor (to keep in simple) in a pretentious way, but Amber isn't like that IMO.
