Removing wallpaper from Sheetrock where the wall wasn't sized (primed) is a nightmare. Started 8:30am on a bathroom 5'x7' and still got one wall to geaux. I honestly believe they used liquid nails in places ...

But what about the walls?

I guess the term soak was a little much rub the wall paper down with vin. and water. then use a steamer. its a common method used to remove stubborn wall paper..
