We've all but put black out curtains on the windows to keep it pitch black out.

I'm glad I'm not the only confused.

Also, isn't the end result of euthanization still, you know, the death of a perfectly healthy frog that wasn't otherwise on the verge of dying a painful death?

I'm not sure if the frogs and snakes are in his house or outside or what.

But yes, as far as I know, euthanizing someone/something is generally related to putting them/it out of its misery. If the frog is totally healthy, then it's just xenopuscide.
