Do you remember the ghost in 3 men and a baby??? Thanks to HD I have finally figured out what it was....and it is so stupid haha. You can see what it is clear as day in Disney plus. Back in the day we used to try and freeze the frame on the VHS and find the dead boy....lol.
Yeah. Things were so much better before HD. lol!

So, The Ohio Players is the best band of all time in your mind?

I referenced Michal Jackson Bad as a comparison to that particular post. Was really a joke in reference to Bad is Good, and Good is Bad.

I liked Johnny Cash's gospel albums. They are extremely good.
No, I never said that. A musician that has never heard of the Ohio Players would be like Saints fan that never heard of Archie Manning.

I think their Bleach Album was influenced by The Melvins, but Kurt ripped many artists on Nevermind.

Kurt wasn't a hack on guitar, people forget he sang as well. Not sure if people know this or not, but it's incredibly difficult to sing and play guitar. His vocals plus guitar playing puts him in a class all his own. Name a singer/songwriter/guitar player that even comes close to his intensity. Before you answer, think about his vocals, then think about his guitar playing.....You might have to think about it again and again. Are you gonna mention Prince Rodger Nelson?
Prince utterly destroys Kurt Cobain as a guitar player. It’s not even close. They’re not even in the same league. It’s like comparing a Single-A minor league relief pitcher to Sandy Koufax.

Kurt's scream was ferocious and it's laughable when people try to mimic it. I think Kim Shattuck is probably the closest thing to Kurt's howling vocals.
Ouch his vocals ... thats funny ... didn't you hear his voice break at the end of Territorial Pissings ? His vocals never really stood out to me. At best I would say he was slightly above average as far as lead singers go for RnR bands. His vocals didn't get in the way either though - thats part of the reason I think the Melvins never made it big.

Staley, Corneil and Vedder were all better vocalists that Cobain.

I hate that Sonicboom is forcing me to post negatively about Cobain, but I’ll stick up for him here. I like Cobain’s voice a lot. While I’ll give you Cornell (one of the greatest voices of all time), I think he’s definitely on the level of Staley & Vedder.

If you say so. I tend to disagree. Rolling Stone pick both artists best song, didn't pick these ones. Would of chose Smells Like Teen Spirit vs When Doves Cry to make a better comparison, but choose to be fair in song selection. Compare voices and compare guitar work.

The raw energy of Nirvana vs the over produced songs of Prince. Even Prince's vocals seem to be over synthesized. It's really pop rock vs hard rock, just my take. Everyone pretty much already made their minds up, but just thought a very small sample might help with hearing things differently.

Of the four songs down below, I would go with Metallica's, One, but this is a very small sample size. Nirvana is still the best all time band, just of these four songs, Metallica wins. Nevermind, Nirvana still wins. lol

For the Ohio Players, a quick Google search shows Fire as their top hit.

Rolling Sones pick Metallica, One as their best song. For once, I agree. haha

We’re apparently having separate debates. My post was comparing Prince and Kurt Cobain as guitarists. And in particular, as guitarists who are also vocalists (in reference to your earlier post).

And it’s simply no contest.

Thank You. I love the baseball reference. Pete Rose told a similar story about Nolan Ryan. Rose was called out on a third strike. He went back to the dug out and said this is going to be a long day boys. Nolan has the no no stuff today :)

I did try, it's o.k.. We will just have to live with our decisions on this one. :)

If you guys can't hear it, then so be it. We will just have discuss another topic.

My mind is made up, Nirvana wins. Next!

Why are you even entertaining that?
