available. How good would we be if Gholston is available. We could keep Grant inside.
With our LB core shaped up, all we would need is a CB. Gay will definetely
improve the position by addding much needed depth, he can spell our starters by
rotating in @ saftey, and cb. Maybe our FO has its eyes on Gholston, what do u all think?

no you couldnt keep Grant inside, cause Grant would be eaten alive, he's a DE...he can pass rush from the inside, but he cant defend the run like a DT can.....your letting the size fool you there is a difference between a 6'3 290pd DE and a 6'3 290pd DT.

How does drafting Gholston solve our DT situation. Sure it leaves us with 4 BEASTS at DE (Will Smith, Charles Grant, Vernon Gholston, Bobby Mccray), but nothing else.

Put Gholston at WLB and blitz him early and often. :9: We MUST punish opposing QBs this year if we're going to make any post-season noise.

Has Gholston ever actually played WLB? I've heard tons about him being converted to it in the NFL but how good would he actually be in pass coverage, etc....?

grant can already move inside on passing downs.. we don't need another DE to do this.
doing this, full time would make our pass defense even worse. as the CB's & Safeties would have to watch for the run even more.
although grant does well against the run on the outside,
logic would say he'd be better against it vs center and guard than guard and tackle.

it would make Will SMith tradeable this year for someone like Chad Johnson...

ok thx for the replies, just saying that Grant has not and will not ever dominate sack wise on the end, so he needs to move inside IMO. I like the idea of Ghoslton moving to WLB to lineup like an end and constantly rush the passer. !

How do u stop either Manning or Brady? do not give them any time to pick us apart. Great D's beat great O's.

The chances of Golston being there are less than the chances of Dorsey or Ellis being there.

His Pro-Day was phenomenal. With Miami, NYJ, NE and (possibly) Cincy all running 3-4s and picking in front of us, there's less than a zero chance.

The Patriots have already had success drafting an Ohio State defensive end and converting him to a Pro-Bowl calibre linebacker - Mike Vrabel played DE in college.

If Gholston is there at pick #7 consider him gone.
