Actually, the Ravens begged him to come to their team. Ray Lewis called himself to plead with Owens to accept the trade. Owens refused the trade from San fran to the Ravens, because he did not feel they were close enough to contending for a Superbowl. They accepted the Eagles trade, even though is was a slightly lower offer.

The Ravens just got lucky, that's all.
