As with everyone, I hope he works out. But honestly, he’s probably our 3rd string QB at best for the foreseeable future when there were receivers, tight ends, corners, and interior offensive and defensive linemen available that could’ve made the field this year.

Between Ian Book and Payton Turner, it kind of feels like we’re drafting like we’re coming off a Super Bowl with no real holes, able to draft for 2-3 years in the future. I know it’s not all about drafting for right now, but we have real 2021 issues that need addressing. I’m thinking our UDFA class will be strong.

Maybe it's how you are going into this season. I don't think we'll be that good this year. IMO our ceiling is a wildcard team (would love to be wrong), and our floor is 7-8 wins. Maybe the team envisions that too and is viewing this as a bridge year (even though they will not outright say it and of course will compete to be a top team) and are comfortable drafting players who they feel will moreso shine in Year 2-3 than right away. Is it annoying as heck to watch draft picks not dress on Sunday? Of course, especially after we've been spoiled the from 2016-2019, but whatever. We're also at the part of the draft IMO where it's a crapshoot. The part of the draft where an UDFA has just as much chance succeeding as someone who gets taken now.

I have a feeling this is the one guy Payton wanted to bring in and in the 4th round as a target.
If he’s going to succeed anywhere it’s with Sean Payton. He can tailor the offense to the strength of the QB like no one else in the NFL.

Book is more athletic than I thought. And on the right play he can get the ball downfield. Not a bad pick. I wanted a wide receiver there. But my guy Amon Ra St Brown was taken at least.

Hope we get Stevenson from Houston now.

True. Not crazy about this pick. Think we needed DT or WR with more value. Maybe get Book in the 6th round. Need to trade into the 5th.

This is the worst pick since Sullivan or at least Grayson.

Calling a 4th rd QB pick the worst ever pick, worse than the Sullivan pick seems a bit too dramatic.

Payton talked highly of Book... and then Brees also has a high opinion of him. That’s a guy that knows QBs, and another guy that is one of the best to ever play the position...

I may not see what they see, but I’m not gonna dump on this pick.

Book doesn’t have the prototypical size, arm, etc... but he has enough, and he seems to have intangibles and at least a little bit of “it”.

Have you considered checking to see if the Saints are hiring? I feel like your talents are being put to waste here.
