Great news - seems to be consistent with Payton's prior comments that he would be ready around the end of September or so.

Had he gone to regular season PUP, he would have been unavailable until week 7. So this means we expect him to play by week 6 or sooner.

I hope that we aren’t rushing him back. Seeing guys like Durant and Boogie Cousins rush back only to get hurt again leaves me wanting to be extremely cautious with these guys bodies.

He almost certainly won't be playing week 1. I think the plan is week 3 at the earliest, maybe not until 4 or 5.

It was a ruptured Achilles. Which means a complete tear if I'm correct.

If you count the weeks, Rankins return by first week of October is almost exactly the same timeline that we got Okafor back on last year.
