I have been reading about the Saints doing this and that and if someone is not there at this pick then they should do this.......

So here is my two cents on the subject.

With the #10 pick you go with Ellis or Dorsey if something crazy happens and they fall to us. If not then.......

I here Lito is being shopped around so Phili can move up. I say we trade down to #19 and pick up Lito Sheppard.

Then at pick #19 you go best available Defensive player unless you are serious about making a play for Shockey. Then you can package pick #19 and our 5th round pick for Shockey and the Giants #31 pick.

This would give you the following........
Lito Sheppard CB
Jeremy Shockey TE
pick #31

This is what it cost......
pick #10
pick #130 something

This would fill two holes on our team and we would still have 2 picks in the top 45 picks. You could then go possibly with Phillips, Mayo, Lofton, best available DT, OT, G, hell the possiblilities are endless.

What do you guys think? Dont tell me that this isn't Madden and couldn't happen because the #'s and rumors all add up in this situation.

I don't think Phili will want to move up to #10. I've read that they want a tackle and unless they want to pull the trigger for Long by moving up to #1-3, then the player(s) they want will be there from 13-15.

That's my guess anyway. I'm afraid we're going to be stuck at #10.

I've heard/read that too about them wanting an OT... CLady and Albert may both be on the board at 10... so I can se Philly making that jump to 10 if they really want one of these guys.

I love the OP's idea...

There's a lot of tackles rising and that 13-15 area is where teams need tackles. Long will definitely be gone by 10, Clady or Otah and Albert might be as well, leaving just Chris Williams and Clady/Otah. Philly might have to jump to us if they want a tackle.

I like Albert a lot, but if the saints take him I hope they keep him at left guard. I don't think the saints need a tackle but in case they take one, I hope it is Otah, but if I was the GM I will only consider Albert as a possible pick.

Now if we are talking about "ideal" movements, I hope Jerry Jones will offer his two first rounders to climb to 10. All of the speculation is about him loving McFadden, but I can see him climbing to get Mendenhall, since he is considering this is their Superbowl year.

Trade:2008 1st Rd. pick to Jax for 2008 1st Rd. pick, 2nd Rd. pick and 4th Rd. The Jaguars are desperate for a stud DE and may be willing to trade up to get D. Harvey. If so, we could draft the following: 1st-Jerod Mayo-MLB/OLB-Tennessee 2nd-Dre Moore-DT-Maryland, 2nd-Tracy Porter-CB-Indiana, 3rd-Dexter Jackson-WR/KR-Appl State, 4th-Kevin Smith-TB-Central Florida, 5th-Craig Stevens-TE-California, 6th-Darnell Terrell-CB/S-Missouri and 7th-Maurice Murray-DT-New Mexico State. This addresses most of our needs plus eliminates the financial burden of having to pay a top Ten draft pick

He could just as well stay put and get Talib/Felix Jones.

It's so hard to predict trades, but Sheppard is overrated and Shockey can't stay healthy. I rather have young studs on our roster, than other teams leftovers who are question marks.

Now, I would love know what TE's prospects played college basketball, since all the real TE studs played. Gonzalez, Gates, etc...
