We should really try to get an MVP chant going in the dome. Let's face it....with LT lighting it up weekly Drew probably has little chance but it would be a great gesture towards him letting him know once again what he means to us fans.......and the city!

I know, I know.....pipe dream......but hey......MVP rolls off the tounge just like Reggie....Reggie......Reggie......:ezbill:

we can't even get a good who dat going.much less an MVP one

Co-MVP would be better. LT and Brees Co-MVP. That sounds about right.

No offense, but to hell with LT. He's not a Saint and not worthy, IMHO. Brees should win it hands down. He means a LOT more to the Saints than LT does to the Chargers.

I vote Co-MVP. I am not so much of a homer that I can't appreciate what LT has done. But Brees deserves it too (and would by my choice if CoMVP cant happen).

Brees has a chance at MVP if he breaks Marino's record. I think 5,000 or what ever the record is for passing yards in a season is a lot more impressive than rushing tds. Also, the rushing td record was broken last year and Marino's record has been there for a while. If this happens I believe Brees will get MVP for sure.

I agree, Nothing wrong with a Co-MVP award. Heck, You looking at two players having MVP years by putting up unbelievable numbers.

That statement is just ignorant.

If you emphasize the world "valuable", then Brees is in serious contention. Think about it, you've got 26 'new' players, some of them prior being 'cast-offs', coming into a 'new' system, a rookie coach...playing in a new and challenging environment. I think part of what gelled this team was that the QB demonstrated a tremendous will and confidence, that came from overcoming both professional and physical adversity. They saw in their leader, the tremendous work and discipline that is required to overcome challenges and succeed. The team has responded and followed suit.

Conversely, the Chargers are stacked on both sides of the ball. They have had multiple years to build their team, working under the same system. The Chargers would quite likely have been a SuperBowl contender even without LT.

LT (and his O-line) can have the MVP. I want the Super Bowl, and I'm pretty sure Brees does too. Brees would not even care if he won that award without winning the Super Bowl. Not to say anything about LT, though... he's got great character and he's a humble player who gives credit where credit is due. But Brees constantly reminds reporters that his passing stats don't mean a think if they don't come in a win. Remember how the media treated his 500+ yard game against the Bengals (i think)? He hated that because it didn't matter. They lost and they needed to focus on winning.

In turn, this attitude exactly why he should be the MVP.

If you take away LT, then, IMO, Michael Turner could still get enough of the job done to where they don't feel the loss so bad. Brees, on the other hand, is a more fragile situation. If Martin has to go in, I really don't see him doing anything close to what Brees has done to this point.

I disagree. Their offense is based on LT and he opens everything else (kinda like Reggie does for us, but on a whole nother level). Their offense would be a completely different animal if you had an average back, like a Tatum Bell, behind Rivers. I think he is just as valuable to them as Brees is to the Saints. No doubt in my mind.

I for one really don't care what the vote turns out to be.... I rather have Bree's know what WE the fans think of him. If he does his thing this weekend........... PLEASE cheer him on with "MVP!"

I honestly think Brees should be MVP for the reasons listed above and the fact the rushing TD record has been broken about 5 or 6 times since 2000 and the passing yards record has been there for ages. Also someone pointed out that over half of LTs TDs was within the 5 yard line.....
