Should Winston play the entire 2nd half if we are up 30+ points? I know Drew probably would like to be in the game, but I think we need to see how Winston does.

It was pretty telling that they let Taysom have an entire series until they got to goal line, then put Drew in for a TD pass.

Yeah, but I'd still like to see Winston in there even if it's for the entire 4th qtr, but we know it will all be run plays for the clock at that point.

The answer is 'Yes' & 'No'.

If Drew is really having some lingering issues with his shoulder where some limited snaps would help him recover, then 'Yes', Winston should see some playing time.

But if Drew is doing well health-wise and he is as effective as he was in the Bucs game, then 'No', Drew needs to continue working on the rapport he is having with all his new offensive weapons. Because we never know how long everyone will remain healthy, the experience working with Brees now could be very important down the stretch if any of these guys are called on to take a bigger role in the offense.

Unless there's a good reason to change things, don't fix what ain't broken.

Being ahead that much going into the 4th quarter is rare in the NFL. But yes I can see the possibility of Winston getting a few series in the 4th quarter once there's little chance of losing the game. However, there seems to be little chance that Winston would get the entire second half unless there really is a health issue with Brees. But if there was a big lead after the first half it would seem like Drew would be feeling pretty good!

Since its S.F a big part me wishes if the Saints got a big lead that they just continue throttle the 40ty whiners.But in reality best to get backups some reps and not risk injury to Star players such as Thomas or Kamara.

While I know the 9ers are rather decimated in personnel, they're still an NFL team (and, therefore, dangerous), so even if we actually have a big lead, I wouldn't let up on the gas until about the 2 minute warning.

Guys, we’ve got to quit thinking like this. Shanahan knows how to game plan against this Saints D and offense has thrown a clunker or two this year. This game like every game the rest of the year will be challenging.

I thought it was awesome. That was right after the Bucs got the ball at the 1 yard line and threw it 3 times, it was obvious Brady was trying to stat pad. I was very happy Payton threw Drew back in there as a giant middle finger lol

Sorry but you guys are dreaming if you think Sunday’s game will be a cake walk . It will go down to the last quarter. The Saints are notorious for playing down to their opponents. I see a score of Saints 31-28.
Winston won’t be playing.

This is definitely a possibility but I won't be shocked either way. Everything clicked last week and SP is going to be focused on momentum. Can he get the team on board with that is the only question

A good reason to change things would be to not expose our HOF starting QB to injury.
