Our run defense has gone backwards...almost back to last year by giving up almost 5 yards per rush the last 3-4 weeks. They have a good offensive line.

I'd run the ball and only have McNair throw the ball 15-20 times in this game.

problem with that is J. Lewis is a big uncoordinated drug dealer who no longer scares defensive coordinators....Warrick Dunn worried me more than Lewis... J Lewis is one of those one year career guys..... he is done ... dont worry about him too much... but I agree they still have a pretty darn good O-line..

I think the only way they can beat us is run the ball and turnovers. Otherwise I give us the edge.

Let's hope Billick ain't that smart, but any team that plays us should do that.

If they do that look for Clarke to feature at MLB a bit more. Be good to see us force a few turnovers with some big hits coming in the backfield!

Jamal Lewis is averaging 3.6 YPC. He is not the player he was in 2003 when he was on pace to break the rushing record. He doesn't have the speed, power, or desire he once had. Lewis does not scare me. This is the Saints game to lose. If we limit the mistakes (turnovers and penalties) we will win the game. They have an aging QB, who has only completed 8 passes for over 20 yards and 0 for over 40. He has trown 7 INT's to only 5 TD's. This game, especially our defense versus thier offense, very much favors us. They will not try to streach our defense because they can't (only 1 speedy WR in Clayton and a QB that has a limited arm). This game will not be as close as some people think.

I have only watched one Baltimore game this year...the one against Denver, and by the way things looked in that game, it amazes me that they continue to use Lewis as the #1 back. Mike Anderson was looking beastly and a lot of people are high on Musa Smith, too.
Word on the street is that Billick has a serious case of man-love for Lewis and that he'll be the #1 back pretty much until Billick gets the boot. :9:

Jamal Lewis is not the same back he was in 2003 but he is still a very capable back. His offensive line has good way down hill since 2003 and he hasn't had a QB that could actually take the pressure off of him until now. McNair is not Peyton Manning but he is good enough to beat you and won't lose the game.

What worries me most is Jamal Lewis hasn't had any big games but he has also played some of the leagues best defenses against the run. Other than Tampa name one team that they played that isn't good against the run in Denver, San Diego, Carolina, Cleveland and Oakland. Tampa is bad against the run but the Ravens did put up 103 yards on them.

So I think the Ravens are better rushing than the stats would indicate. Hopefully we can shut them down because Jamal Lewis is not a guy that you want to get going.

Our Rush Defense is not as bad as the numbers make it look. We actually have had lots of big stops by the Run D at key times.

The Ravens have to be successful running the ball against us or they have no chance.

McNair's 7 INTs beg to differ. A big reason they lost to Denver was an INT he threw to Champ Bailey in the endzone. Denver hasn't given many opportunities to do so and he blew that one. It was a poor throw too.

Billick is going to look at the Tampa game tape.........run the ball and throw deep out of run formations (single receiver sets, play action, big plays on young safties.) And he is still going to lose.

It is also the play that got Jim Fassel fired. The play in the endzone was a designed play that defied all football logic. They had there 6-1 WR manned up against 5-8" Darrent Williams and they throw the fade in the endzone to challenge Champ Bailey. McNair can't be blamed for that. As far as McNair goes he can still beat teams but your right he is not above making the stupid pass and can kill his team but he is a better option than what they have had the last few years.

i watched a few games last year, and i felt the same way, i thought that jamal lewis shouldnt have been the #1 back. i think last year that chester taylor was a better runner than him. i may be wrong because i only saw 2 or 3 games, but jamal just didnt look as good as chester taylor. and now some think mike anderson is looking better than him
