Yeah, I'm a bit surprised we're not hearing Leftwich's name mentioned more. But, that could be due to some people thinking he's riding Brady's coattails to some degree.When it comes to evaluating, Jeff is one the best if not arguably the best in the business. But there are so many factors that go into how teams make these decisions. Personally, I like having Jeff in New Orleans even though I know he wants to be the final voice on decisions.
On a somewhat related note, the Bears could make a major "surprise" hire that will shock if not shake up the league. That decision could come Friday. If not, then I think their goal will be to secure the Brown/Eberflus combination. If the major hire is made, I think the coaching choice will be Caldwell or Bowles. Maybe Leftwich, but definitely a minority candidate. I know they love Eberflus but I doubt they hire him if they make the surprise hire at GM.
No idea how he'd do as a HC.
