Why would you want DRC over Sheppard PLUS a 1st round pick? Lito is a prooven STUD CB. I think DRC has great potential, but I choose prooven YOUNG talent over unprooven rookie all day. I think we could still land a very good player at 19. Especially since many of the picks between 10 and 19 will be offensive. We have so many needs...why not?
But then again, I think we should trade up with the Jets or NE to grab Ellis or Dorsey. But with the draft this way and the opppurtunity to get Lito and a #1....no brainer!
Rivers is a more athletic Shanle. McKelvin is about the 5th or sixth best CB. DRC can be the shutdown CB the Saints have never had.
Clady and then trade Stinchcomb for a 3rd or 4th rounder!
Anyone who would give up a 3rd round pick for Jon Stinchcomb needs their luggage searched.
I don't see Smith being with the team this entire upcoming season.I would love the trade, but just trying to be realistic. I just dont see it happening. I dont think we could afford him, especially with Smith, Marques Colston and Jahri Evans looking for extensions.
I would trade down with Philly to get Lito, and then maybe trade up a couple of slots from 19 and get Rivers. Or maybe we could trade down even further from 19 and take K. Phillips or D. Conner at the bottom of the first if we didnt trade up to get Rivers.
But If we couldn't trade at all, I would go with DRC.
Brandon Albert then Laws in the 2nd!
