If the Saints win the AFC.... (1 Viewer)

I still dont quite understand that deal. the guy has several similar auctions. Its like buying options actually. Only difference, is that if you dont hit your strike price, you gt a nice parting gift in the form of a tshirt. this guy is going to make a killing
*note* if you will look, someone did correct them..
That would be pretty impressive since the Saints are an NFC team.

didn't scroll down far enough

I like the concept, no way the guy can give away the tickets as the auction is stated, top bidders get a T-shirt only. Until he corrects it in the offer it's not legit.

This auction is just for the rights to buy up to 4 more seats at face value...So, let say you have to bid $1000 (assume its the winning bid) to get the rights to a $500 ticket. You can then buy up to 4 tickets at $500 face value.

yeah, id be hesitant.

From the ebay link above:

You are bidding on the right to purchase Super Bowl Tickets if the Saints make it to Miami. Winning bidder to pay the final bid price upon auctions close. If the Saints win the AFC championship the winning bidder must then also pay the face value for the number of options you have purchased.

...Winning bidder will also receive a Saints T-shirt. If the Saints do not make the Super Bowl, the T-Shirt is all you will receive.

No way I would ever try and sell "rights" to purchase a ticket, but to each his/her own.

it's actually an interesting concept - presumably, the seller is also offering the same "option" to fans of all teams still in contention for the playoffs - all the winning bidders on teams that do not reach the superbowl lose their money (seller gets to keep it) - depending on the final sales price of each "option" the seller can end up making significantly more than if he just sells the tickets outright

right, and i guess he has to throw in the Tshirt to be legal(or abide by Ebay rules)
