We are The Division Champs, and still the # 2 seed. This game meant nothing! Go Saints, continue to roll!

Actually i disagree.... This was a 4-9 redskins team coming into our house.... IMO this was a game that we had to win if we wanted a good shot at the bye. Now we will have to win out to have shot, if we won this game like we were suppose to then we would of had some leeway now we have no wiggle room what so ever.

But i think the most alarming of it all is the fact that we were facing a team with a losing record in OUR house with the chance to clinch a division on the line, and came out and played like complete trash. I hope and pray that Payton makes some changes and gets these guys into gear for these last two games. Right now i'm pretty furious at this performance.

excellent post. i'm not furious at the loss but dissapointed in HOW they lost. new york is going to be a very, very tough game to win. if there was one game to be "able" to lose, the team should have saved it for the upcoming game and won against washington and win over carolina.

Every game means something in the big picture -- but certainly some much more than others. The Saints won't find themselves in any tiebreaker scenarios with the Skins so head-to-head doesn't matter. But it was a home conference game and a chance for the Saints to add a win and position themselves better for the post season.

I agree and disagree, I agree because it changed nothing about our standing and we still won the division i disagree because we lost!! (duh) but the Redskins defense dispite there record have been good, I think we actually have a better shot of winning the Giants game than the redskins regardless of record....but any given Sunday, we should know better than anyone because we were usually the team other teams though was an automatic W.

it was our due-time to lose to a team, that didnt have a winning record.

every teams has gone through this season, except us.

Completely disagree. First, you don't lose this game at home. Second, now the saints have to go into NY and if they lose this game NY or Dallas could overtake them for the #2 seed. Third, they go into NY and could come out with a two game losing streak which you don't want to see in a playoff team this time of year. Fourth, they just sent a message to NY that they are definitely a beatable team giving NY confidence.

This was NOT the game to lose.

I agree with you up until the point where you said it sent a message to NY that we are a beatable team. I don't think Washington found any weaknesses that we didn't know was there. Our run defense has been suspect all year even with Hollis Thomas in the middle. I can guarantee you that NY's gameplan was going to be to pound us with Barber and Jacobs no matter what happened today. The loss today was mostly because of bad execution and playcalling by the offense.
