It's all about how bad our offense is! We had one of the worst defenses in the history in the NFL and all we have to complain about is a perennial top 5 offense like its all of a sudden the Jags. Come on guys, do you really think we are going to drop off outside the top 5? What do you realistically think our ranking will be?
Give the O line a chance to gel and let's see if the starting line is even on the team yet.
I for one am giddy this morning with this new D but when the real season starts we will see.
We played vanilla on both sides, the difference is our D is much improved and we are getting pressure rushing 4. Payton was angry because he expected his vanilla O to score big points and it didn't. If you watch the O line there was no blocking scheme. Gibb was here working in the Denver zone blocking. I put a link on here back in mini camp, and it's been reported numerous times but it has not been used in a game yet. I saw Thonas open all night but the ball was forced to Coleman like it was an audition and we ran on I think every first down. We were not out there trying to disguise what we wanted to do.
More than worry about an O that will be top 5 this year lets be hopeful our D really is this much improved!
I'm still going 12-4!

I don't think we should be playing "vanilla" with our 36 year-old HOF QB in there. Just saying.

I don't think he should have been in there when Armstead came out. He acl I wouldn't have him in there at all! No need.

It was outside the top 5 last year if you count what matters (points). We don't keep score by yards, red zone performance and Ingram averaging less than 50 yards per game has to improve.

Our Oline is trash. If we don't figure something out quick our defense will have to carry us, and as much as they have improved I don't think they're good enough for that.

The decision to not address the oline in the draft is kicking us in the junk right now.

This, we can get/ give up 1,000,000 yards a game, that's not what matters. If we can't score/ prevent the other team from scoring, we are SOL.

We did address it, last year; it's just that the player is looking more and more like a colossal flop as each week passes.

Bad draft picks, bad offseason decisions, and unfortunate injuries are catching up with our team.

Winning is done in the draft and the offseason. The season is the implementation and the reflection of your success in them.

The good part, is that not everything is negative, we got good players without the draft such as WR W. Snead, CB D. Breaux, DE K. Edebali..

Our starting O-line looked terrible. Brees was constantly having the pocket collapse around him and the run game was nonexistent.

At some point this O-line has to play like people are saying they eventually will. Right now they (still) aren't. Same issues from last year.

If you looked at Strief last year and noted that he would be a year older and slower and didn't have a serious backup plan then you need someone to answer to on your decision making.

Strief is not the worst part of it but he pretty neat done and if you drafted someone at 13 to replace him then that should be the focus of competition on camp not an experiment turning that pushed into a flex option.

And really Peat is more of a atural LT so questionable on trying to force a origin change after using a lick that high.

We still aren't free of personnel management issues even with Ireland.

There is no doubt the Defense is improved. Improved enough to keep the team in games with a garbage fire OL getting Brees killed? Probably not.....
