Yeah but can we sign him? Why would he want to come here unless it’s for a big paycheck?Lazard fits the need at the X. He has the size (6'5" 225lbs) and he's developed since being in the league.

He's 6'3" but yeah he has good size and surprisingly solid speed. His blocking is also extraordinary.
The few decent WRs in FA that are in his age range (26/27 yrs old) are just ripe to be overpaid, given the lack of supply and overwhelming needs for so many teams.
This WR draft class absolutely pales in comparison to recent years, but there will be some values in the 2nd/3rd RD imo...and it is probably our only avenue to getting the help we need.
Yeah I see CBS lists him 6'5" as well...I just went off of:I'm not sure where you got 6'3" since every site has him at 6'5" 222-227lbs. The only thing that differs between sites is his weight, not his height.

Wow, just wow. Every year, people think the fly boys are the most important position in sports. The top wide receivers are all gone by pick 40 in round 3. We have precisely 2 capable wide receivers on the roster. We need at least 4. And they are expensive. This is why I have wide receiver as our number one need outside of QB. Even IF (big if) we can sign a capable free agent we will need to add two more guys. I might pull all my hair out if we go into another season with TQS, Kevin White and Calloway.
We brought in Landry last year but he’s pretty much done. I don’t think he has the ambition to last a full season. Especially not at $3 million a year.
There’s maybe 2-4 first round wide receivers and then there’s a second tier group that is pretty big. This group is going to go fast.
Then a third tier group where the drop off is pretty steep and not worth a third round pick IMO.
First tier:
Quentin Johnston lock
Jordan Addison lock
Jaxon Smith-Njigba maybe 2nd tier depending on the team
Kayshon Boutte maybe
2nd tier: all locks these guys can make an impact Year one
Josh Downs
Rashee Rice
Cedric Tillman
Jalin Hyatt
Marvin Mims
Zaye Flowers
There’s going to be a run on wide receivers in the second round into beginning of the third. I want to get a defensive tackle but if we do then we are not getting a wide receiver in the third or we have to reach for a third tier guy. And a lot of guys are going to be over valued for this reason.
Third tier:
Xavier Hutchinson
Trey Palmer (Nebraska )
Dontayvion Wicks
AT Perry (Wake Forest )
Andrei Iosivas (potential Senior Bowl riser from Princeton)
I would not pick any of these guys in the 3rd round and wouldn’t expect them to make an impact year one. Iosivas is actually my favorite of this group but I would hope to get him in the 5th round, and not upset about a 4th round pick.
Our offense stunk last year! We need to add weapons and if they don’t draft a receiver early then they’re really saying how they’re okay to stink into the future. It’s the new norm in the NFL to have to draft many receivers early. We got SUPER lucky with Shaheed. If he decided to go somewhere else then we’d be in even worse shape. I’m really glad that he didn’t settle for just being a return specialist. That’s at least one thing this coaching staff got right.
Now we need to push for more receivers.

Kayshon Boutte is a late 3rd maybe 4th round pick. As a LSU fan he was totally absent in majority of our games and wasn't even the 2nd best WR on the team. Not to mention he has that whole "SEX" scandal with the LSU recruiter. The top wide receivers are all gone by pick 40 in round 3. We have precisely 2 capable wide receivers on the roster. Yeah but imo a competent OC and QB fixes some of the issueDid you see our offense?
