Hypothetically speaking if it was Mingo and Tez that would have to be one of, if not the fastest linebacker duo in league history. Not saying that will translate to a top 5 defense by any means but that would create some serious havoc for opposing qbs.

I've been fantasizing about this possibility for months. Elite defenses are elite in large part because of their speed. Our front 7 has the potential to be nasty. Combine that with a Asomaghua/Lewis combo.....and an improved Jenkins/Harper combo (given the system).....no reason we cannot have a Top 15 defense next season. When you have Brees at the healm, that's all you really need.

If we draft Mingo, I really hope he puts on like 7-10lb and keep the speed.

With that being said, if Dion Jordan or Ziggy Ansah isn't there, trade back a lil bit to draft Okafor wouldn't be a bad idea either.

not a bad idea at all, okafor is a beast and could play either OLB position, he is fast and strong, yet athletic enough to be an olb

Where does Jamie Collins fall? Is he a reach at 15? Would he be there in the third round? Or could we trade back and pick him up? He honestly looks like the best piece for us in the draft (obviously this is my opinion) and the most complete OLB, more experience at it than Mingo and just as athletic as Jordan but better against the run.

I say Trade back a little get more picks and Draft Cardelle Patterson from Tennessee or Aaron Dobson from Marshall dats if we lock down Namdi cause I know Jamie Collins is better than both Mingo and Jordan,so if we get Jamie Collins and a Reciever like Patterson or Aaron Dobson or even my sleeper Marcus Davis from Virginia tech,Dion Jordan is a Developement process and Mingo needs to learn to Cover it's a reason LSU never let him play linebacker with that speed,but Jamie Collins is dat Guy so if any Lb being picked early I hope its him!!!

Can't see Tez playing middle as he was horrible in run and even pass defense but one thing he did exceptionally well was chase down people and tackle them. I think he is best suited coming off the edge and having little responsibility. Moving him to DE for a year will be the best thing for him in a 3-4. He got to experience having assignments and being in alignments that should only make playing OLB easier for him than before I'm pumped! Mingo or Lane Johnson.
