I was confused the first time that I heard an Irish person pronounce the letter H as haysh. I think that's a U.K. thing (maybe more) and not just Irish though.

we seem to be the only nation that pronounces it double-you. the french, still, nailed it for awesomeness.

Which is funny because Latin has no V sound. The V is pronounced more like a mixture of U and W so "double-you" is more descriptive of where the letter actually comes from.

Caesar saying, "Veni, vidi, vici," would have sounded more like, "Wu-eenee, Wu-eedee, Wu-eekee."
