We finally got to see some game action with Nick Vannett last night. It is a small sample size, but if you had to pay a guy right now who would you sign?

Neither? Trautman is on his rookie deal and there are a lot of Nick Vannett type players available on a yearly basis.

I'm not sure why people are trying to compare Vannett a 6-year vet from tOSU who has been able to develop on three different NFL teams to a 2nd year TE who played at Dayton and is still developing. It's not fair to Trautman.

To answer the question, Trautman is on a rookie deal and Vannett just signed a 3-year $8M deal in the offseason so we don't have to address this for another couple years.

Trautman actually did not start catching passes (getting looks) until Siemian took over and averaged 4-5 catches a game.
