I find this list interesting for the ones that didn't make it. Like Dances With Wolves, John Ford's original Stagecoach, and none of Ford's Cavalry trilogy made it also. I thought Josey Wales and The Searchers should have been higher.

Tombstone is a top 10 movie of all time.

Silverado could be higher on that list also

Little Big Man!? Dreadful! Where is For A Few Dollars More? It is at least as good as the original. Let's not forget a couple of great spaghetti westerns - The Great Silence and Django. I'd also add Jeremiah Johnson and The Shootist to this list.

In any case, The Wild Bunch, Unforgiven, Once Upon A Time In The West, The Good The Bad & The Ugly, For A Few Dollars More, A Fistful Of Dollars, The Searchers, The Great Silence, The Shootist, and Shane are my personal preferences.

No True Grit, Sons of Katie Elder, blazing Saddles.

The good the bad and the ugly should be number one. That is the most bad azz western ever. Clint was awesome in that movie. How is it not number 1?

In fact...

No Jerimiah Johnson, No Lonesome Dove, (Yeah I know it was a tv mini series) No Cowboys, My favorite John Wayne flick...

crap list is crap. that's what you get when you have a gaming website ranking movies lol.

#25. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Bogart/Huston/Holt(1948)
Actually set in the time period it was made, so I don't consider it a "Western."

#24. Little Big Man. Hoffman/Balsam/Dunaway(1970)
Really an anti-Western. I don't know if it should be included either.

#23. Silverado. Kline/Glenn/Costner(1985)
Should be higher. Pretty much brought back the Western as a genre in movies.

#19. Will Penny. Heston/Hackett/Pleasance(1968)
I think it should be higher. And they also could've included "Monte Walsh."

#16. 3:10 to Yuma. Crowe/Bale(2007)
Good movie, but the original was better.

#14. Tombstone. Russell/Kilmer/Elliot(1993)
One of my favs, so it should be higher.

#13. My Darling Clementine. Fonda/Darnell/Mature(1946)
Good, but so historically inaccurate it's almost laughable.

#12. The Outlaw Josey Wales. Eastwood/George/Vernon(1976)
Should be higher. Like Silverado, helped bring back the genre.

#11. Rio Bravo. Wayne/Martin/Nelson(1959)

#10. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. Wayne/Stewart/Marvin(1962)
Both could be higher.

#7. The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly. Eastwood/Van Cleef/Wallach(1966)
Possible #1.

#6. The Searchers. Wayne/Hunter/Wood(1956)
Possible #1.

#2. Unforgiven. Eastwood/Hackman/Freeman(1992)
I'd rank it lower, or even not at all. I didn't like it the first time I saw it, but it did seem better in a second viewing.

#1. Once Upon A Time In The West. Fonda/Robards/Bronson(1968)
Great movie, but not #1.

No "How the West was Won" Had Jimmy Stewart and a pretty big cast of actors -- excellent movie and should rank in the top ten --
