New Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams appeared to have a rough job when he accepted the position in January. He inherited a group that was lousy in pass coverage, lousy at forcing turnovers and lousy at pressuring quarterbacks.
Through two games, he already has cleared up two of those issues.
Improved coverage? Check.
The Saints have broken up 21 passes, three more than any other NFL team. If they kept up that torrid pace, they would finish with 168, 43 more than the Baltimore Ravens’ NFL-leading total in 2008.
