really guys... since this guy has come into the game as a starter and grew so much hype i've been trying to figure out just why a guy with 2 all-pro reciever, one being argueably the greatest in the game, and practically one of the top TE's in the game... seriously.. how hard is it to be a good quaterback on an offense like this... of course you would say "see drew bledsoe".. but when you have a moblie quaterback it takes away added pressure for your linemen, in that they really dont have to hold blocks for so long.. now im in no way taking away from Tomo's mobile abilities.. i'm just trying to figure out what makes him so great that he can even be mentioned in the same sentence as Drew Brees or Peyton or Brady let alone ranked in the top 5, and a head of Brees... someone please help me understand... maybe i havent watched enough, but from what i've seen it just looks like a came of pitch and catch with some really good recievers... i mean as long as he doesnt drop the ball, my girlfriend could get the ball to TO..

Yeah, I just don't get it. He's the next Troy Aikman? Do you sit a Troy Aikman and let him warm the bench for 3 and a half years?

I am not trying to put him in my top 5 yet, but it is obvious you haven't watched him this year. The guy is good. It is his poise and knack to make the play when needed that
makes him so good. Good mobility, solid arm, good command of the offense.

That is the things that make him a good QB. To hate him just because of the hype is simply uneducated. Watch the guy play and you will see he is a solid "young" Qb that will be very good.

I think it's a combo of 2 things...

1. Romo really is pretty good.

2. The media loves to talk about Dallas.

Result... Make Tony Romo out to be Tom Brady v. 2.0. It's hype dude.

I want to say this guy is another QB a defense can get to mentally but so far its not happening. I am holding out for a full season before I call him anything more than a Majkowski.

What I see so far that makes him so successful is that he has great pocket presense, he can feel the rush and knows where to go. He is a very accurate passer out of the pocket and on the run. He throws tight spirals. He has receivers that know to find an opening when he gets out of the pocket and they save him often.

The pass to witten is exactly what the saints have to watch for. It was a dead route, Witten saw Romo run out of the pocket so he just runs down the field at an angle giving Romo a good angle to throw and Romo put the ball right in his hands in Stride. The receivers can make a QB just as much as a QB can make a receiver.

save for that ridiculous ending at WASH, he would be 6-0 as a starter...and remember, he took over a team that most were writing off as overrated, and that parcells had lost his touch and was grasping at straws to save his season and his last hurrah as a coach

spin it the other way...if romo had taken over a floundering saints team, and immediately went 6-0 to position them for the #1 playoff seed, how would YOU feel about him then?

i thought he made some plays in that NYG game that only a handful of QB's could make. he is the real deal from what i've seen...we'll need to pressure him into mistakes like we did with vick, mcnabb, farve, etc to win this game. we have played some crappy QB's this year (frye, gradkowski, smith, etc) but romo aint one of them

Well, Bledsoe had the same resources and nearly drove the team into the ground so I would have to say that there is at least something to all of the Romo hullabaloo.

I'm still not buying the hype... when Big Ben came in for Pitt, i saw somthething spectacular about that kid.. his game play just looked a step avbove every other average or rookie quaterback.. now i'll give romo his pocket presence as his mobile ability is and added effect to that.. but when u look at the guys that are around him... especially TO.. just look at what he's done for guys in the past.. he practically made Jeff Garcia a pro-bowler and gave McNabb a "Hall of Fame" season.. like i said, not taking anything away from the guy but i think he's far to overhyped..

bledsoe was also a statue behind an "ok" line... like i said, im taking nothng away from romo's mobile abilities/pocket presence.. but as far as everything else im just not entirely sold on..

Romo is definitely for real. You can see it as easily as you can see it with Brees. Some QBs have it, some don't. I think Brees and Romo are the 2 best QBs in the NFC and will be battling it out for the NFC crown not just this year, but for many years to come. Like the NFC's version of Manning and Brady. I could be wrong, but hey, it's just an honest opinion. If I was building a team and Brees was already off the table, I'd take Romo over any other supposedly good NFC QB. Hasselbeck, McNabb, Vick, Favre, Delhomme, Eli Manning - yeah no thanks.
