It’s week 3 and we lost. And we don’t have Carr for now, but we have a whole season in front of us.

I thought it was good to see the following individual defensive stats from our rookies today:
Foskey 4 tackles
Howden 4 tackles
Breese 2 tackles, 1 pd
This was positive

Werner, Lattimore, Taylor, and Yiadom combined for a total of 28 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for loss, and 10 pd

Also, Shaheed took a return to the house!

What was very surprising is that Cameron Jordan recorded no defensive stats. That is a huge concern, we needed him today. Did he get hurt?

Cam was out there, Love just kept getting away. Probably why we sent more DB blitzes than usual.

Ross Jackson from Locked On Saints mentioned that he spoke with a few D players post game and they said it was technique and "eyes" issues mostly that caused them to collapse. Whatever "eyes" means, IDK. I'm assuming this may be a subtle shot at the fill-ins not being in the right position at the right time.

I absolutely saw Jordan get at least 1 pressure, there's no way they didn't count it. Or maybe they didn't? I know what I saw though.

Cam was put there doing his thing, but the young guys ate today. Foskey looked good and Bresee looks like a man among boys sometimes. Taylor was bonkers today and putting on a clinic for most of the game.
It seemed to me like we were running a lot of stunts and that GB wasn't fazed by it.

The defense was out there for a long time in part because it could not get stops. In the second half, Love had all day to throw. I saw relatively few times when we rushed at least five. I did see our rushing only three several times in key situations.

The other problem was sealing the edges. GB attacked on the edge the whole game and the DEs were getting trapped inside, especially in the second half.

Green Bay's sucesses were all in the 4th quarter. There was a lot of things going on there. Great idea by them to go for two for example. Our defense on the road missing two DBs and on a short week played as well as could be expected.

In the end, we did enough to win. Groupe just misses a very makeable game winning field goal. That's football I guess. We had other chances to ice the game, but failed to do so.

The outcome would have probably been the same for a lot of teams If they lost their QB in the third quarter. The box score looks like a 4th quarter defensive meltdown and a rally by a home team that had the visitors on the rope because thats exactly what it was.

Happens every week. It feels like the sky is falling when its your team. We did it to atlanta last season. Maybe we do it to the bucs next week. Hope jameis plays at the top of or above his recent ability the next few weeks.
