My daughter had a class project and sprung this question on me last night. It wasn't "most" influential....it was for me to name an important or influential person from the last decade and why. It was kinda late and I'd already settled in for the night but was having trouble coming up with a good answer. Didn't want to go with the obvious politicians.

I settled on Elon Musk. The reasons I gave was that for the current generation he thinks outside the box more than most, has great ideas, and acts on those ideas. We need guys like that to push us forward technologically. He has his shortcomings but who doesn't.
