So the New Orleans Saints are licking their wounds late in the season after falling to the Dallas Cowboys as they strive to achieve the No. 1 overall NFC playoff seed and hopefully a trip to the Super Bowl.
Sound familiar?
Correct, it was a very similar scenario during the Super Bowl season of 2009.
Many remember that Saturday night prime-time loss to Dallas 24-17 to drop New Orleans to 13-1 on the season.
But the similarities go deeper than that.
The 2009 Saints had just beaten Atlanta to go 13-0 before losing to Dallas and followed the loss with a matchup against Tampa Bay.

So what about the 2018 Saints?
New Orleans beat Atlanta 31-17 in Thanksgiving night before a Thursday prime time loss to Dallas and then, of course, travel to meet none other than the Buccaneers on Sunday.
