Performance drop off baffles team, followers

NEW ORLEANS - Was it the bye?After six weeks of near flawless execution, the New Orleans Saints looked like anything but a 5-1 team in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Some refused to blame it on the bye. None, though, produced any other reasons for the dramatic drop-off in performance.
"I'm not going to use the bye as an excuse,'' quarterback Drew Brees said. "I've played on teams that played some of their best games off the bye and others where we played some really bad ones.''
