We got my son a newer iPhone recently and we stored the old one in a drawer (home button was broken). His new phone and iPad were synced and everything working fine.

My nephew's phone blew up and he doesn't have the funds to get a new one. I loaned him the old phone. He put a new sim card and all. I "reset" the phone, but did not bring it to factory settings. Once my nephew got his sim card and started using the phone, both my son's iPhone and iPad reverted to his contacts, etc. He seems to have lost all of his contacts.

The old phone still had him logged in iTunes or iCloud or whatever. I got him to log off, but the problems persist.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Get old phone from nephew. Settings, reset, erase all settings and contents. Also you can login to iCloud.com with sons credentials from computer and see once logged in click on contacts to see if they're any stored on cloud. If there isn't, Only way to get contacts back is to get a local backup from computer.

You need to delete the old account from find my iPhone.
