I know Romo has some pretty good stats.

I haven't lowered my standards enough to watch the Cowboys very much, but Kitna looks pretty good and Romo has a tendency to be ...well, Romo.

I have watched Kitna the last two games and this guy is on fire right now. I think what he offers over Romo is that he will not lose you as many games as Romo.

Romo is talented but inconsistent. High risk-reward. This is the type of thing that drives Cowboy fans crazy. So much potential...flashes of brilliance...but he makes bone-headed plays at times.

Kitna is on a short leash. Limited talent, but consistent performer when they limit what he is asked to do. Good enough to move the ball and less likely to lose the game with a bone-headed mistake. Of course, they don't ask him to do the things they ask Romo to do.

I'm seeing Romo as a young Favre. A gambler that can make some great plays at times but can also make some bonehead plays ala Favre. Kitna is a steady type that can be successful given te correct situation. I think he was a victim of a horrible Detriot organization early in his career.

Kitna will eventually be himself.

the vast majority of yards for kitna today is the screen pass. The players just make great run after the catch.

I would like to see the actual yardage from screens. If I was Dallas I would have ran it over and over until we stopped it.

Put simply: yes, he is.

If Romo is healthy before the end of the season, they probably will be stupid enough to put him back in, which would be a mistake. Then again, it doesn't matter because we just ended any and all illusions they had of making the playoffs anyway (just gauranteed them a non-winning season today).

Judging by how he's performed since stepping in for Romo, I strongly believe he can still be a starter in this league in the right situation. Too bad he signed an extension with Dallas through 2013 to be Romo's no. 2. Next offseason would be the perfect time to trade him if I was Jerry Jones to see if they can get at least a mid round pick for him to a team like San Fran or Oakland that's desperate for decent, consistent QB play. Andrew Luck is probably the only safe bet at QB in next year's draft and will likely go to Carolina since they're primed for the no. 1 pick so some of those teams will have to look for QB help elsewhere

Kitna isn't flashy but he is (and always has been) a solid NFL QB. He even had a couple of good seasons with the Lions.

I'm not denying that Romo is incredibly overhyped by ESPN and other media outlets....however I think to undersell Romo is disrespectful to Payton, seeing as Payton effectively recruited and coached Romo into the player he is now.

He's a good QB with plenty of experience and is surrounded by plenty of talent. Not a bad combination.

LOL, finding an insult to SP was a huge stretch.

I would say no. My guess is that 32 out of 32 NFL GM's, scouts, and head coaches would take Tony Romo over Jon Kitna if they had the choice
