Is their anyway Bjeorn Werner falls!!!STUD (1 Viewer)

If you are interested in watching him just look for FSU defense torrents.

I know its not "watching film". But now days you can watch every single defensive snap from games in videos under 10 minutes. They have all the plays broken down from whistle to whistle, around 70 plays a game, lasting on average 9 seconds.

I don't get into the draft as much as I used to, but its very easy to watch every snap from a prospect now days.

Great stuff. Thanks. A much better way to get a feel for players on an every snap basis.

Since he is white, I'm expecting a JJ Watt comparison to go along with Justin Smith and Jared Allen.

I appreciate the error checking, but if that is all you have to contribute to this thread, no contributions would be a better option.

But he did contribute... Eye agree with hymn

ALSO he pumped 25 bench reps-- not mentioned below... between combine winners and losers I've seen many scouting reports and media outlets that have him in the Loser's Column

Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State - Like Moore, Werner, the German-born pass rusher, put up stellar numbers last season. But Werner, too, failed to show scouts he had elite athletic ability to make plays in the NFL. At 6-3 and 266 pounds, Werner was expected to post a better 40-yard dash than the 4.83 he recorded. His 31-inch vertical jump and 7.30-second three-cone drill also likely will limit Werner, who was expected to be a top-10 pick, to only those teams using a 4-3 scheme.

I dont know man, he's dope to me. I think he's one of those guys that just makes plays. Him being in the same class as Jarvis Jones, Ansah, Dion Jordan, Mingo, etc makes him seem less of a player. Plus the majority of people buy way too much into how he did out of pads. He's a different kind of player. He can play 4-3 and 3-4. He's a great DE, can play OLB, and even play 5-tech. We're judging him on a HANDFUL of drills at the combine. Yes, he wasnt as smooth, but who are you comparing him to? Jordan? Mingo? Ansah looked just as off in LB position driil, but I dont see people knocking him. Ryan Kerrigan had the exact same issues coming out, just a 4-3 guy, and look at him. What did Werner do in pads, THATS ALL THAT SHOULD MATTER.

Depending on who else is there, if Werner is still on the board, and Jones, Ansah, and Jordan are gone, I'd take him ahead of Mingo. That guys does EVERYTHING well, and needs pro coaching and a program to get him going. They try to downplay his production, but he didnt "accidentally" make all those plays, did he? Sure, he's not an athletic freak like the guys the media is having their love fest with. But make no mistake, Werner is a big time playmaker. He just seems like the new guy, people love to doubt.

Yes there is a lot of speculation; some accurate and some not so accurate and football players always seem to do well in spite of any measurables that might suggest otherwise. But 4.83 in the 40 without pads makes me think he'd not really play well as a linebacker. His cone drill time makes me wonder how he'd be in coverage against TE's and 31 inches? Jimmy Graham could prolly stand flat footed and pick balls out of the air above his head. BTJMT... I don't think Hunt is getting enough consideration. I think we might be able to trade back and get him towards the end of round 1 and pick up a round 2 pick in the process. His measurable abilities are off the chart and his college credentials were good too.

I really like him as a prospect. Just not for us. I do not think he would fit as a 3 - 4 OLB on either side, I think you negate any of his strengths if you ask him to play DE in a 3 - 4.

He is a good prospect, one of my favorites in the draft. But he is a 4 - 3 RDE. He is going to make a lot of money in this league playing that position. Its his most natural position and when you take a guy as high as he is gonna go, you want to put him in the best position to make plays.

I do not think he will be there when we pick, and would only entertain it of all 3 top tackles are off the board, as well as Jordan, Mingo, Ziggy. Id even put Jones, and Lotulelei if they clear medically ahead of him. I think all of these guys would better serve us than playing Werner out of position.

Really like the guy tho, just not for our defense.

Agreed.

Dont get the Allen comparisons. .....I def dont see Justin Smith.

I know he is white and all but come on man.

Werner is a best though, a mean pass rusher. Questionable motor at times though and must win early for him to make the play.

Yeah I know I don't see those comparisons either. What I see from Werner is that he is stout against the run, has very good football awareness, great at rushing the passer and from the little film I seen of him dropping back in coverage he looks very good. I think he can work out as a WOLB in a 3-4 he does tend to conserve his energy at times but with some endurance training he can get better at that in the off season.

I Agree, during the season Werner made more plays compared to Mingo I watched LSU games Mingo tends to disappear in games if they throw a big body at him but all is forgotten when you look like a freak at the under wear Olympics.
