So everyone should give up their 5th amendment rights so they can prosecute this guy?

Just another case of sacrificing individual liberties in the name of safety.

No one ever foresees that they could be advocating the elimination of their own rights. People usually don't have a problem surrendering someone else's rights. Just remember, if it is good for the "criminal" it is good for you, too.
 
If the person is being forced to give the password up and the result of that action he incriminates himself then yes.

If the police get a warrant for the computer and hack the password then no.

I did not say that in my post, or anything even close. I just dissagreed with JE about anything to make the governments job harder. I wouldn't want this guy to get away with something just to make the gov't job harder if there was a legal way to do it.
