......to have a Defensive Coordinator (and staff) that you can count on. Prior to this year when in the last 15 year did you as a Saints fan feel comfortable that the DC was capable of addressing the opponents strengths.

Outside of the secondary the Saints defense is essentially the same as last year. Over the past few years everyone and their brother has been calling for Will Smith's, Charles Grant's, Scott Shanle and Roman Harper's head but not anymore? Why? Because of Gregg Williams, Bill Johnson, Joe Vitt, Dennis Allen and Adam Zimmer know how to use their players and game plan for the next team.

If this were last year with G. Gibbs at the helm facing the "Wildcats" I would be very concerned but that is not the case......

.....it is 2009

Gibbs is gone
Defense is in the Top 10.....Let me say that again...The Defense is in the Top 10
Tracy Porter is Healthy
Darren Sharper and Jabari Greer are in Black & Gold

Gregg Williams is keeping his plan for the "Wildcat" close to the vest (I believe this is the first time he has face it)

Sean Payton is on NFLN complimenting the heck out of the "Wildcat"

Reggie Bush is running the "Wildcat" in practice.

In Gregg Williams I Trust!!!!

.

faced it a few times with phillie but nothing like whats getting thrown at us this weekend.

Let me tell you how it makes me, as a fan of this team for 34 years, feel.

In the past, if the Saints go into Miami tomorrow, and manage to lose this game, I'm thinking "There ya go ... same ole Saints."

This season? If the unthinkable happens, and Miami eeks out a win? I'll be confident that it was just a fluke, and nothing more.

This must be what Patriots fans have felt like before Brady went down last year. I mean I went into last weekend EXPECTING this team to take care of the Giants. It's just freaking weird .....

Not really with the "fluke" rational...if we lose this game its because you cant win them all, not because of what we did wrong...I think we are a play off team and a team that can contend for a super bowl, but I dont think we are unbeatable. if we lose its because of something we did wrong and not because the opposing team deserved to W that day, thats kinda the approach all the the fans of teams that to L's to us the past couple weeks rational is. I love how complete this team is this year, with the commitment to the run, the aggresive defense that prevents opposing offenses ability to run there offense they way they want to run it. previously we were read and react with the occasional blitz, now we are pressure, pressure, pressure, pressure. I think the defense love this new approach, the proof is in the pudding.

After seeing G. Williams at work, I'm truly confused at what exactly G. Gibbs did all week to earn a paycheck. You never saw one game throughout his 3 year tenure that have looked anything like any of the 5 games we've seen in this short year with GW.

I'm glad Coach finally did something about this, but now that I'm reminded of what a good DC does for your team, I can't believe Coach waited that long to make the change. I understand we have better personnel this year, but geez. We can actually see ingame adjustments.:ezbill:

Its been beautiful. I love the fact that I can go to work all week and not be all stressed-out over a loss. Awww YEAH!

I like not having wisecrack bamboozlers and prima dona type characters in the house. Couple those with a scheme like Gregg's and his intensity and you gottcha yourself a team.

It's one thing for GW to have the gameplan. It's an entirely different animal when the entire defense buys into his scheme. How much did Payton help Williams in that regard when he ponied up the extra quarter mil? 'Cause it's obvious to even the most casual observer (Aikman, Berman, etc) that these guys have bought into GW wholeheartedly.
