not named LSU.

LSU loses 25 seniors next year. Among them are All-Americans Glen Dorsey and Craig Stelz. If you were paying attention tonight you saw Dorsey's replacement win the Defensive MVP and Stelz's replacement all over the field like we haven't even seen from Steltz at all this year. They will also lose both CB's and replace them with inexperienced players who are more physically gifted than those who leave. LBer is a real weak spot, but the replacements are again, very physically gifted.

They lose Offensive MVP Matt Flynn who is clearly inferior to Ryan Perrilloux. They lose leading receiver Early Doucet who missed five games, but will return receivers #2-5 plus they will be adding at least one five-star recruit who is expected to contribute immediately. They will lose ROT Carnell Stewart and replace him with the most physically gifted and probably the most intelligent lineman since Ben Wilkerson in Joseph Barksdale.

LSU opens the season next year with North Texas, Troy and a patsy to be determined later before opening up in the SEC at Auburn. That's three games for the LBers abd CB's to get the kinks worked out before facing they're first real test.

Don't count on gaining any ground.

MLU,
Those are some rally promising things to note, but I'm not counting anything yet because Georgia and Florida are going to be dynamite next year as well. Not to mention it would be a mistake to underestimate Auburn, Bama, Tennessee, or even Arkansas, who just got themselves a heck of a good college football coach.

That being said, LET'S GO FOR TWO IN A ROW!!!!!!!:9:

AWESOME

Georgia played with youth all this year. I'm sure they'll be the favorite, and Florida nipping at there heels. Auburn possibly could be up there too. I'd put LSU maybe 3rd.

LSU has the brutal SEC schedule next year so if they even contend for a NC it will be a strong, strong performance.

If RP makes it to his senior year.....should be lookin' good.

What's the early story on recruiting for LSU this year?

Early story is we're finishing strong baby!!! Miles and staff are pulling in top notch guys at the final weeks and we might have a few more after this performance tonight, we already have a #7 class according to Rivals and a #4 class according to Scout with about 4 scholarships left I believe...

Long ways to go til the next college season :mecry: but here are my quick thoughts on next years team

1. If we lose noone else besides the seniors we expect to, LSU's offense will be one of the best ever in college football. Ryan Perrilloux, Keiland Williams, Charles Scott, Richard Murphy, Trindon "Mighty Mouse" Holliday, Demetrius Byrd, Brandon LaFell, Terrance Tolliver, and Richard Dickson. I am seriously salivating. Not to mention we return FOUR, I repeat, FOUR of our outstanding offensive linemen in Ciron Black, Herman "Tha House" Johnson, Brett Helms, and Lyle Hitt. It is going to be the most awesome offense ever

2. Defense has the potential to be even better than this years. We were banged up all year and I don't expect that to happen next year again. Some names to watch out for: Tyson Jackson (if he returns), Kirston Pittman (if he returns), Rahim Alem (pass rushing specialist), Tremaine Johnson, Ricky Jean-Francois aka Freak, Charles Alexander, Drake Nevis, Darry Beckwith, Kelvin Sheppard, Perry Riley, Shomari Clemmons, Chad Jones, Curtis Taylor and theres a few more that I can't think of that you can add to my list. Not saying they will all be All-SEC and future 1st rounders but they have the potential to be great players

3. Les Miles is the coach at LSU. Long live The Hat

GEAUXXX TIGERS!!!

Funny how LSU fans trumpet being in the SEC and then promptly turn around and forget exactly what that entails.

LSU may win the SEC again but it'll be difficult, result in at least 1 loss, and therefore come down to the wire.

Not even close to Matt Leinart's USC offence. THAT might be one of the best ever. Leinart, Reggie Bush, LenDale White, Dwayne Jarrett, Steve Smith, Sam Baker, Ryan Kalil, Winston Justice just to name a few.

That same program will produce a solid offence next year: Mitch Mustain, a 4-headed monster at WR: David Ausberry, Patrick Turner, Ronald Johnson and Vidal Hazelton. Joe McKnight and Stanley Havili leading a backfield more stacked than the cast of Baywatch. A young, but talented OL group.

Maybe we can both pull it together and get a REAL national championship game. USC-LSU would be one for the ages.

LSU lost two games this year with a team that had clearly more talent than any other team in the SEC and they avoided UGA and UF in the SEC title game. Next year UGA, UF, and Auburn will all be better than they were this year while LSU will be most likely not as talented as this year. My $.02.

Actually UGA avoided LSU by losing to Tennessee and not making to the SECCG.

LSU is loaded with talent next year, no doubt about it. But so are UGA and Florida, with the rest of the SEC not far behind. Honestly, I'd like to see another 2-loss SEC team win the NC game again next year (assuming the 2 losses are to SEC teams). It would confirm what happened this year...the SEC doesn't need to schedule tough OOC games because their own conference schedule is so brutal, and perhaps the stigma of a soft OOC schedule will finally be put to rest. Some teams need to schedule tough OOC games to balance their schedule...the SEC does not.

I'm not holding my breath over LSU repeating next year...it will be waaaaay tough. I do expect an SEC team to make it, however...unless the likelihood that most of the SEC teams will have 1-2 losses hurts them.
