They have to be better than the players currently behind Davis/Werner. If not, then at the least just as good with vet experience. You’d think having a defensive head coach would’ve avoided the yearly “what are we doing at LB?”

If I'm a player, I'd rather a team be transparent with me than tell me I'm penciled in as starter just to get me to sign, then relegate me to backup and ST roles. I don't fault either side for how it was handled.

The fact of the matter is that he just wasn't as good last year as he was the year prior. We wouldn't have pushed for a reduced roll otherwise.

I was just watching a couple of the 2018 games. Klein was so nasty. Loved him in black and gold.
