NFL officials are taught not to blow the whistle on a questionable fumble/incompletion. Yet somehow, after Goff has the ball knocked out of his hand, and Cam has already run the ball back to the 30 yard line, an official starts blowing his whistle!
That is a travesty of officiating. No official is that poor that he blows his whistle several seconds after a defensive player has picked up a dislodged ball and is headed for the end zone. I call shenanigans!
There needs to be an official investigation into the officials who made the no-call at the end of the NFCCG last year and the official who inexplicably blew his whistle today. It is too much of a coincidence that the Saints are the victims of 2 of the most egregiously bad calls in NFL history in back-to-back games against the Rams. These officials should be suspended until an official investigation by an impartial entity has been completed.
If the NFL fails to look into this matter, Saints fans should band together to have a private investigator look into these officials' bank accounts and possible affiliations with gamblers and other parties who would want these games' outcomes slanted toward the Rams.
