Jahri Evans will remain on Saints coaching staff; former Louisville Center Tobijah Hughley hired as an offensive assistant (21 Viewers)

Specialty in Data...that's interesting.

I've often wondered how up to date the Saints are with things like advanced analytics and whether Moore would move them forward in that regard? Maybe that's part of what this hire will do.

And it might not just be things like DVOA, it could also be things like managing work loads to keep guys healthy. I know that European Soccer teams do a lot of stuff managing player work loads and resting them when their workload is at a point where there is danger of soft tissue injuries. I wonder if that's done in the NFL?

Also, it's good to see Jahri back. Hopefully Young will be back too.

Ha I wonder if they told Cam Jordan they were managing his load when he only got 11 snaps that one game. For injury sake I hope they figure it out, though I hope Kellen learned in PHI that a TC w/ many practices and long practices is the way to go.

I think they do "manage loads" in the NFL. I'm just not sure if it's evidence based or if it's just coaches deciding on a vet day off?

I know that in European Soccer they realize that it's important to work guys hard to keep them in shape because being out of shape leads to more injuries, but they keep a close eye on their workload with GPS trackers indicating how far they have run, how fast, etc. that lets them know when a guy has reached a point where it could lead to soft tissue injuries. Doesn't always work, but I would hope NFL teams are collecting similar data and using it.

The CBA limits the number and length of TC practices.
