I met Jammal Brown back at the beginning of last years preseason. I work for the New Orleans Zephyrs and one day while I was working a co-worker of mine saw Jammal coming out of the practice facility. He waved him down and told him that I was a huge Saints fan and that I was in a wheelchair and would he mind going to my gate and saying hi to me. Jammal said no problem and did come right over to me and introduced himself and called me by my first name. I was so shocked I couldnt believe that he took time out to come over to me just to say hi. The funny thing is I had a pair of NFL gloves on me and I forgot to ask him to autograph them for me.
So the next day I sent him a thank you letter for taking time out of his schedule to come talk to me and I told him in the letter about the gloves. Now this is back in like September of 2007. Well today I go and get my mail out of the mailbox and there is a envelope addressed to me with my address but there was no return address on the envelope. I could tell that what was in the envelope was not a letter but I had noi clue what was in it. So I get inside and I open the envelope and inside that envelope was an autographed game used glove of Jammal Brown. He signed it Jammal Brown #70. I was so excited I almost jumped out of my wheelchair. I couldnt believe he just sent me an autographed glove. The ironic thing about this is that yesterday was my 36th birthday. What a gift to get the day after your birthday. I put the glove up in my sports room with all my other memorabilia that I collect. Everytime I see the Saints play I will remember what Jammal did. Waht a classy guy and what a classy thing to do.
