MICCOSUKEE, Fl. (WTXL) — New Orleans Saints running back and Miccosukee native, Javorius "Buck" Allen, came back to his hometown for a special event. He hosted Buck Mission Day 2019 which is the first year for the event.
The event featured financial classes for teenagers and adults, arts and crafts, and stem projects, just to name a few.
Allen explained that he thought about holding a football camp but realized that many football players already hold camps, so he decided to do something a little different for his hometown. "For me, I thought of a bigger picture, you know, about parents getting kids to the camp, grandparents and all that. I just came up with a whole day pretty much that helps them fulfill their needs. Get them something that they can't get on a daily basis; free STD testing, free visual, free eye exams, things like that."
