Jets acquired Kris Jenkins for third- and fifth-round picks in the 2008 draft.
Both FoxSports and ESPN has confirmed the news. It remains uncertain if the Jets will restructure Jenkins' contract. New York is taking a risk, and has been surprisingly willing to give up picks in the Mangini era, but Jenkins should fit their scheme well and replace Dewayne Robertson. Feb. 29 - 3:48 am et

I'll give the Jets a 5th for Robertson to cover their cost...NO CONDITIONS though. Vilma played behind him in New York so he's had success behind DR.

Hes Huge. But... Lately hes almost never healthy. It will be intresting to see if he can have a re-surgence with the Jets. I'm glad hes out of the division now.

I didn't like giving up that much for him..but it fills a HUGE hole. The Jets need to bring in Faneca and Pace..and I will be a happy man.

Randy Moss went for a 4th..but we give up a 3rd and 5th for fatso? Another job well done by the Jets FO.

I'm not feeling the Jets front-office myself, but if Kris Jenkins plays vintage Kris Jenkins again, he may be worth a 3rd and 5th, although his age is a concern. Just glad we don't have to be terrorized twice a year by him.

yeah hopefully Carolina doesn't get rich on the two picks somehow. Oh wait they have Marty Hurney making decisions...so never mind.

It's actually bad news for us. They lose a DT that's been injured and hasn't been a big impact for a couple of seasons and gain 2 picks to use on younger and faster players.

their recents drafts havent exactly been that great, so i am not too worried

Very good deal for the Panthers. Jenkins is a beast when healthy, but that just hasn't been the case lately. Add to that weight concerns and the Jets gave up WAAAAYYYY too much.

Per RotoWorld:

"NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Jets signed DT Kris Jenkins to a five-year, $35 million contract, with $20 million guaranteed."

:surprise-bleu-1: $20 million guaranteed??
