The New York Jets continue their search for a general manager after the departure of Mike Maccagnan, and now they’re looking to New Orleans for a possible solution.
Representatives from the Jets held a second round of talks with current New Orleans Saints pro scouting director Terry Fontenot for their vacant general manager position, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Fontenot has spent 16 seasons with the Saints and six in his current position.
In his duties with the Saints, Fontenot manages the team’s pro personnel department, making recommendations for player acquisitions by performing in depth evaluations from existing professional leagues, watching the waiver wire, and he leads the scouting of forthcoming opponents on the field.
