IF, the Jets did not follow the rules, this is a HYPOTHETICAL, no facts at all, I would say that without a doubt, the NFL Head Office will do nothing to the franchise. Half of the people in the NFL front office are Jets Season Ticket Holders.

IF, there is anything to see here, it will be NOTHING TO SEE HERE, move along.

This is gonna happen throughout the year. I've honestly been really impressed with how little issue there has been up until this past week.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that after weeks and weeks of no problems or clusters for most teams, alot of players got a little too comfortable and have now started to take more risk/break protocols etc. The Peltzman Effect could apply here: (Paraphrasing) "The safer one feels, the more careless one tends to be"

I agree, especially with younger players who are still in their "young and dumb" stages. It's kinda difficult to tell someone under thirty they can't socialize with outsiders. However, I still think the odds are at least one player will get really sick.

Lets hope it was a false positive. I do believe, however, that this will continue to be an issue for the remainder of the season (assuming it does not get so bad as to cancel it!). As has been noted the NFL is composed of guys in their 20's and all it takes is one or two to think they can get away with going to a club or a party to infect a team(s). Lets hope our Saints can remain COVID free.

Really should've delayed the season. The NFL is gonna mess around and have a negligent death lawsuit on their hands.
They knew the risks and had every chance to opt out. That would never hold up in court for that reason alone. Even then, on what grounds could you file a lawsuit for (essentially, in most cases) getting someone sick? Coronavirus isnt HIV.

Agreed, these are adults who had the choice to opt out (Chiefs' Super Bowl hero Damien Williams did, so did their Quebecois offensive lineman). They're also all wealthy enough that they could sit out a season and not worry about failing to pay rent/mortgage/groceries the way many working people do if they're out of work for a year.

If you ‘opted in’ the idea is that you are in agreement that the team will follow league mandates
If you can show team knowingly violated those mandates, you probably have a case

I would respectfully suggest that you have no working knowledge of most players’ net vs outlays
Your presumption would have to assume that all players saved at least as much as they spent last year - I imagine there’s only a handful of people on the planet for whom that’s true
