He makes little mistakes here and there, but it happens .

Last week when Snead caught one...he said Fleener. Obviously not as big a bungle as saying a player from another team like he did with Evans. But I just chuckle when I hear it.

The only "knock" I could ever have on ol' Jim is sometimes when he does games and his voice is giving out and going hoarse. I don't think it's happened yet this year, but it's a rough listen when it does .

Now I don't think Jim does this, but Deuce does..and so many others do...It's freakin' JERR-US, NOT Jerr-E-US for Byrd. Def a pet peeve of mine.

But game day will never be the same whenever Jim hangs it up.

It's understandable that our home-team local announcer would regularly confuse a Saints player for a player on another team that we haven't even played yet?

Explainable, maybe. Understandable? That's a stretch.

A more realistic explanation could be Jim is getting a bit long in the tooth.
