Interesting takeaways:
  1. Feels he is in his best Cardio shape ever
  2. Loves Nola, Saints would not want it any other way. Really wants to try and end his career with a championship. Feels New Orleans is setup for it.
  3. Never spoke with Sean Payton since being traded out of New Orleans but is open to it (interested to see what Sean says when he will I'm sure be asked about this).
  4. Some crazy stunts he did up in the sky

Glad to have him back. Many say we won the trade because of his injuries and play after he left. But he also never got to play with another Drew Brees. I wish he would have never left. The fact that he hasn't spoken to Sean since leaving let's me know the tension rested there. Sean is a good coach, but he's a bit of an a**hole as well.

Yeah, it is extremely obvious that the only person that kept Graham from coming back in past years was Payton. Which is wild, because Payton openly talked about wanting Graham back, but maybe Payton should have actually reached out personally to talk it out with Graham.

5. Everyone listens when Jon Gruden speaks. “He’s really helped out the offense” and on his last day at practice Gruden gave the team a speech that was “one of the best speeches (Jimmy) has ever heard in his life”

What a great interview, lots of unexpected info.

I can't wait to hear Saints fans in the Dome sending the love back to Jimmy this season. I see Graham motioning out to the slot a lot this year being mismatched on some small DB. What he said about the playbook for Carr seems like we should expect a very different offense this year. I can't wait.

I never thought I’d see the day when a player would want to stay/return/retire a Saint.
I think alot of players would want to. I don't think Reggie Bush wanted to leave. Mark Ingram certainly didn't want to leave. Given the chance players would come back and retire here. But money is always the decision maker.

But that’s all from the 00s/10s.
I’m referring to the dysfunctional image the Saints had from the 60s to early 80s where it seemed everyone was counting the days till they were on another team.

Most interesting part of the interview is Jimmy saying he hasn't talked to Sean since the trade. I thought they did prior to him signing with Green Bay. I wonder what is going on with that? Could be another reason why he didn't sign here before signing with Green Bay.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Payton being gone was the only reason both Graham AND Michael Thomas returned. For Jimmy, it never had anything to do with the Saints personally. He loved NO. It was just Sean.

I used to catch heck for saying Sean is a colossal arrogant prick, I still loved him and am thankful for the job he did here.

Yep. Deion broke my heart turning down more money from us to go play for the Niners. We couldn’t even overpay for great players to come here.
