Wait.. so you would just stand in people’s living rooms for a month and let them insert a Christmas tree into you(?)

Pssssh no I'd simply hold it. Duh.

And I was a better Godfathers delivery driver than you were so... 😝

On a related note, when we moved I found a very old tub in attic and found I had a check stub from Godfathers... A whopping $2.13/hr and my check for two weeks was $89.23 after taxes. Haha. And I'd spend that THAT Weekend uptown lolol

I basically copied and pasted this from guido's last thread on jobs not 4 months ago, though I did add the clothing store clerk, a job I had in high school :hihi:

Yeah Godfather’s was fun.. couple yrs later I had a job as a bellman/concierge in the Quarter; my paystub was similar but i made BANK every night in tips for carrying bags and booking tours (swamp tours, ghost tours, plantation tours, etc).. i would usually make $200 or $300 per night in tips, then get off work at 11pm, 30 steps away From Bourbon St- at 21 years old... That money didnt last long.

ETA I’m fairly certain ive told that story here before, i think GMR’s senility is rubbing off

I get that you're kidding somewhat. In my case, for a lot of years I had a second job. The second job often changed, particularly during my 20 years of full time ministry. I usually held a part time job to supplement my income from ministry. Actual career changes have happened three times during my work history even though I've held many more jobs than that. Just a thought.

I didn't work for Cintas, I worked for RUS which was trying to get into the Louisiana Market. A friend referred me and I thought it would be good resume' experience. I held out for a year before I had enough of the local manager. Between him being incompetent, sleeping with every secretary in the office and watching him throw employees under the bus with Corporate I gave them my 2 weeks and then had to threaten to file a lawsuit for the backpay they owed me. When Corporate contacted me they didn't even realize that I had left the company because the paperwork was still sitting on his desk. They thought that I was just out for personal reasons. He didn't last long and I think that they pulled out of Louisiana a year or two later.

Got my first bad taste of incompetence in the Corporate world right out of the gate and that experience has actually helped me over the last 22 years.

Yeah, our office in Landover, Maryland wasn't bad. If there was a downside that I experienced, it was more of a lack of communication from the supervisors/managers. The training, structure and organization was pretty on point though. Which made doing my side of the job pretty straightforward. If the pay was better, I probably would have made more of a career of it. That said, it's all worked out pretty well since I'm a financial management specialist now and making 2x what I would have with Cintas. The current position is also much more my speed. Being able to get something out of my finance degree is nice.

I'd read up on RUS a while back and the reviews weren't exactly glowing. So you're certainly not the only one with that sort of experience with them.
