SAN DIEGO – My observations from the New Orleans Saints' 35-34 victory against the San Diego Chargers:

-- Credit the Saints for never giving up. Even when things looked bleak, they continued to fight and claw. That resiliency paid off.

-- That said, it's easy to see why the Chargers are 1-3. They essentially gave this one away. They squandered a 13-point lead in the final 8 minutes with back-to-back fumbles deep in their own territory. If head coach Mike McCoy loses his job this season, he'll look back at this one as perhaps the proverbial nail in the coffin.

--John Kuhn had a career game. The seldom-used Saints fullback scored a career-high three TDs. He's the Saints' touchdown-scoring leader this season with four. Somewhere Mark Ingram fantasy football owners are scratching their heads.
