Former Tulane Green Wave offensive tackle John Leglue had to be ecstatic on Sunday when, after being waived by the Denver Broncos, he was claimed by the Saints for their practice squad. The move couldn’t be any more convenient. Leglue has earned his bachelor’s degree in business and is going to be continuing his studies in Tulane’s MBA program.
More on point, hopefully, he can successfully navigate the change to the pro game and join the Saints active roster someday soon. One of the last needs on the team right now is a solid backup tackle. To boot, pun intended, Leglue is an accomplished long-snapper. A duty he performed for Tulane through his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons.
Leglue was a four-year letterman in both football and baseball at Holy Savior Menard Central High in Alexandria, Louisiana before committing to Tulane. While a great high school athlete, John Leglue only drew a two-star rating with Rivals.com and had no offers, choosing Tulane as his collegiate destination based on academics.
